Ms. Pai has an extensive commercial banking experience totaling 26 years. Most recently, she was the Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of Hope Bancorp and Bank of Hope. Prior to Bank of Hope, Ms. Pai held executive level positions including General Counsel, Chief HR Officer, and Chief Risk Officer at Wilshire Bank, BBCN Bank, and Center Bank as well as senior management positions at Nara Bank, Hanmi Bank, and Pacific Union Bank, serving over the last several decades as General Counsel of mostly publicly-traded banks with assets ranging from $3 to $17 billion.  She has participated in six mergers and acquisitions, including a bank sale, bank acquisitions, an FDIC-assisted bank asset purchase, and mergers of equals of similarly sized banks. 

Ms. Pai currently serves as an Advisory Board member of a non-profit organization, Center for the Pacific Asian Family, after having served as a board member and a board president during a combined period of seven years. Prior to banking, Ms. Pai worked as an associate for the law firm of Thelen, Marrin, Johnson, and Bridges in the firm’s corporate, bankruptcy, and litigation practice groups. She obtained a Juris Doctor degree from UCLA Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Chicago.
